TechnoparkToday.com(May, 2017): A kathak and Contemporary Dance Workshop named JHUM- THAAT-TAAL announced by Varadamudra Temple of Dance, a venture co-ownered by a Techie.
KATHAK workshop includes sessions which helps the learners to understand the dance form from the base. Workshop provide intensive short term training for the learners through sessions.
This workshop is based on practical and theoritical aspects of the form to enhance the learning process in students .
Varadamudra Temple of Dance is a venture by two passionate and established dancers. they are established in their own area of performance and teaching, and providing the best and innovative ways of training the dance enthusisats both trained and novices.
Chothy Nair , Founder and Artistic director of Varadamudra Temple of Dance Trivandrum , started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of three. She took her first steps in Mohiniyattam at the age of nine and Kuchipudi at the age of twelve. She was a recipient of the CCRT scholarship for Mohiniyattam in 2000. She was also honoured with the title of Kalathilakam from 2005 to 2007 in both Keralotsavam and Shree Vidhyadhiraja Kalotsavam. She was the first runner up in Vanita Ratnam, a women’s reality show aired on Amrita Television in 2010. She finished her graduation in Choreography from Natya insitute of kathak and Choreography under the able guidance of Guru Smt Dr Maya Rao and Maddhu Natraj Kiran. She had performed and Choreographed for various performances in India.
Lakshmy Sudarsan(Co founder, Associate Director of Varadamudra) is an IT professional working with Integrated Dynamic Solutions, Technopark, Trivandrum. Lakshmy started her classical dance saparya under Smt. Kalamandalam Sathyabhama(Junior) and Sree Udyogamandalam Sasi at the age of nine.Endowed with abundant grace and a commanding stage presence, she owes her achievements and accolades to her great Guru Smt. Kalamandalam Sathyabhama who has ignited the true passion of dancing to her.Participated in several youth festivals. Among her achievements include:1993 Kerala University Youth Festival winner in Mohinyattom(First), 1992 KeralaState School youth festival winner in Mohinyattom(First) and Kuchuppudi(Third). Was continuously under practice until getting marriage. Then came a break after that. But the immense passion for learning and performing classical dance pulled her back to this field.
