>>The e-Governance system in Kerala is set to receive a big boost after the coming of a second State Data Centre (SDC) at the Technopark. The SDC was inaugurated by P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for IT & Industries, Â at a function held at the Technopark.
“The new Data Centre will help in faster and more secure roll out of e-governance initiatives, especially Government to Government (G2G) and Government to Citizen (G2C) services. The first Data Centre which was launched in 2005 has reached its saturation and the launch of the new Data Centre will augment the Government’s capacity to cater to the ever growing demand for e-governance servicesâ€, Kunhalikutty said.
The State Data Centre has been set up by Sify Technologies.  They will handle Training, Operation & Maintenance and deployment along with managing the facility for five years.  In line with the Kerala Government’s policy, the SDC has more of Linux and Open Source applications.
