Kerala Tourism Website Wins National Award

Kerala Tourism had yet another feather added to its cap when its website was selected for the National Tourism award in the category of “Most Innovative Use of IT/Best Website and Portal” for the fifth time in the last decade. Kerala Tourism, which makes use of IT to develop innovative online marketing tools, announced that it would roll out a new set of user-friendly mobile-based applications very soon.

On behalf of the department, Kerala Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar received the award instituted by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, from the President Pratibha Patil at a ceremony in the National Capital on February 29, 2012.

The award-winning website (keralatourism.org) has been designed and produced by Thiruvananthapuram-based Invis Multimedia. The IT initiatives for travellers and industry, social media campaigns like micro-blogging, social networking, travel social networks, photo sharing, brand video channel on YouTube, Facebook fan page, and web-based campaigns have given edge to Kerala to win the award.
