TechnoparkToday.com(Sept, 2015): Kowdiar Palace located in Thiruvananthapuram was built during the reign of Sree Moolam Thirunal in 1915 and was presented to Sethu Parvati Bayi, who once was the Junior Rani of Attingal under the Senior Rani, Sethu Lekshmi Bayi. It is also the official home of the Travancore Royal Family. The palace has 150 rooms and each room is designed through kerala architectural style.
The Kowdiar Palace is also the residence of the late Maharaja Sree Chitra Thirunal Balarama Varma and his members of family. Currently, the descendants of the Travancore royal members reside here. Public are not allowable to go into the palace, but can view this impressive old palace from the gate.
Some of the nearby attractions of this palace include Kanakakunnu Palace, Napier Museum and Raj Bhavan. Kowdiar Palace located in kowdiar, which is about six kilometers away from Trivandrum Central Railway Station and also about fourteen kilometers away from Trivandrum International Airport.
Entry to this palace is restricted, but with special permission from the administration team of the palace.
