Mobile Application For KSEB Labha Prabha

TechnoparkToday.Com>> April 2013:  Trivandrum-based start up firm, Livares Technologies Pvt. Ltd, launched an Android application to participate in Labha Prabha, the SMS-based electricity saving campaign organized by Kerala State Electricity Board.  The application gives an easy to use interface to participate in the contest, using SMS service to send registration details and meter readings to KSEB.   This application does not use internet connection.

Labha Prabha is a comprehensive campaign of Kerala State Electricity Board that aims to improve demand-side management through an incentive scheme in order to ensure public participation. This scheme is meant for domestic consumers and promises gifts and other incentives for saving electricity. The first step towards participating in the scheme is to get you registered.

The participant will immediately be informed his/her average consumption through SMS and instructions as to when meter readings should be taken. Tips for saving energy also will be SMS-ed. If the consumer wins prizes, that too will be intimated via SMS. Prizes include 50,000 CFL’s every week, 1000 solar lanterns every week, LED bulbs,T-5 tubes, solar table lamps and solar water heater. The bumper prize is a 1 Kilowatt solar power unit for 100 participants who save the most electricity.
