NASSCOM launches TechNgage – Celebrating Technology & Technologists

Technoparktoday.com>> The NASSCOM IT Services Council (NITSC) launches TechNgage, an annual initiative to further enhance technology skills available within the country by providing a platform to recognize highly skilled people. In an effort to help India become the hub of innovation and to enthuse Indian technologists to continuously evolve and become ‘World Class Techies’, NITSC has identified several initiatives and TechNgage, is part of one of the key initiatives – ‘Celebrating Technology & Technologists’.

The event is open to all technologists and the winners will be awarded as NASSCOM Technology Fellows and NASSCOM Technology Explorers. TechNgage will be a six city tech-event this year conducted in three rounds. The theme for 2016 challenge is ‘Your City – Smart & Secure’

Round 1 (Online Phase): Last Date to submit the entries is 30th April 2016 and the results will be announced on 13th May 2016. Technologists can participate in this challenge as individuals or can form teams of 2 members each. Participants will be required to build a PoC (Proof of Concept) in line with the themes of the challenge and submit their entry for evaluation. Shortlisted entries will be invited to participate in Round two.

Round 2 (Offline Phase) : On Day 1 of the challenge, participants will be expected to build a prototype of their idea. Participants will be required to present their ideas to the judges, during an ongoing evaluation process. Participants should also be prepared to tweak their ideas, to include minor modifications introduced by the judges. On Day 2 of the challenge, shortlisted teams will be required to present their ideas. City level winners will be announced. Each individual participant and team leader (in case of entry as a 2-member team) will be evaluated individually for the “NASSCOM Technology Explorer” award

Round 3 (12 week Challenge) : Shortlisted candidates from Round 2 will be invited to a 12-week challenge to solve a real world problem for Digital India.

Awards will be conferred at a gala NASSCOM ceremony, with leaders from corporate India, luminary academia & government officials in attendance. Individual entrants and team leaders shortlisted from Round 3 will contend for the NASSCOM Technology Fellow award. They will be invited to come up on stage, present their solution idea and field questions from prominent members of the audience. NASSCOM Technology Explorers and NASSCOM Technology Fellows will be conferred with cash prizes and awards at the gala finale
