Nominations invited for TMA Awards

TechnoparkToday.com (July 2013)>>  The Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), the professional body of practicing managers in the capital city, affiliated to the ALL India Management Association (AIMA) has invited nominations from business establishments for the TRIMA HLL Corporate Social Responsibility Award for 2012-2013. The award has been instituted in association with global healthcare public sector organization HLL Lifecare Ltd., to honor organizations that have contributed immensely for the socio-economic development in the State of Kerala.  All firms in the commercial, industrial and service sectors including private companies, public sector undertakings and cooperative institutions are eligible for the award.

TMA also announces maiden TMA Award For Innovation to be given this year for commendable initiatives in waste management in the State. The award is instituted to recognize innovative practices and approaches by business establishments or individuals. Both the Awards carry cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and citation.  The awards will be distributed during the flagship event of TMA, TRIMA 2013-the annual convention of the Association to be held on 22 July 2013.

Announcing the details of the TRIMA HLL CSR Award, Dr. Babu Thomas, President TMA said –“TMA has always been in the forefront in promoting excellence in management and development of human resources”.  The objective of the award is to recognize the efforts by various member companies towards community development and thereby motivate other companies to invest in similar initiatives. It will also help sharing of best practices amongst all the companies that could help increase impact of such initiatives. 

With the alarming rise of dengue and other diseases, finding a lasting solution to the waste management problem in Kerala is going to be critical. “TMA is taking initiative of recognizing the most appropriate model for sustainable waste management suitable to the geographical and other conditions of Kerala, thereby ensuring a sustainable habitat in our State”, Dr. Babu Thomas added.
