Nominations invited for Kerala State Young Scientist Award

TechnoparkToday.com(Sept, 2013) >>  The Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is inviting nominations for its prestigious Kerala State Young Scientist Award for 2014.

The award instituted by the KSCSTE recognises outstanding contributions by young Indian scientists carrying out research work in Kerala in various branches of Science and Technology.

The deadline for submission of nominations is October31, 2013. Details are available on KSCSTE’s official website (http://kscste.kerala.gov.in/pgm_ysa.htm) and on the 26th Kerala Science Congress (KSC) website (http://www.ksc.kerala.gov.in/ksysa.php).

Nominations in the prescribed format along with the supporting documents must reach the General Convenor, 26th KSC, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), Sasthra Bhavan, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram- 695 004 latest by October 31.

Candidates recommended by the subject committee after screening will be invited to make a presentation before November 30, 2013 and will be informed of their selection for the award by the first of January 2014.

The awards, consisting of a certificate with citation and a cash prize of Rs 50,000, will be presented by the Chief Minister during the inaugural session of the 26th Kerala Science Congress which will take place from January 28-31, 2014, at Kalpetta in Wayanad.

The awardees will make a 15-minute presentation of their award-winning work at the plenary session of the Kerala Science Congress.
