TechnoparkToday.com(May, 2014): Thanks to Home Minister – Ramesh Chennithala for giving the final clearance for new police aid post and enhanced security for Technopark including 24 Hour police patrolling in an around Technopark.
Home Minister said that, kazhakkoottam police station will be bought under city police jurisdiction of city police commissioner. Also he said that the pre-paid auto counter in technopark will be started within weeks.
The security incidents in and around technopark campus was a big concern for techie community for a long time. we also reported lot of security incidents including attack and molestation against techie, especially towards girls. lots of complaints were given to local authorities but nothing happened.
Credits for the recent developments goes to a group of techie activists called IAK-Be The Change, their proactive and dedicated actions resulted reaching out the home minister and senior police officers to technopark and they interacted with techies , company authorities to take this decision.
Organizations like Prathidwani and GTech also put significant efforts in this matter. Many of the IT companies in technopark and online medias like technoparktoday.com, keralaitnews.com and the entire techie community played significant roles to make it happen.
We, TechnoparkToday.com thank to Hon.Home Minister. Shri. Ramesh Chennithala and Police officers – Shri.Manoj Abraham, Shri.Rajpal Meena and all other officers presented during the event.
Ajith, there were many complaints went to park center. but the VoT complaint, or method of protest and the mail sent to authorities by Mr.Mathew made the difference.
I do not understand that logic. The Minister’s order is on IAK’s petition. And that’s an evidence I can see for myself. The Minister may have his reasons for mentioning GTech and its a bit green to say that Minister mentioned names in the meeting. What are we trying hard to prove here? The Minister’s FB page and several media reports have updates about this matter at the same time frame as IAK’s updates. And common sense points out to me that they did make a huge impact when things had slowed down, regardless of whether we agree/disagree on other teams’ contributions. I know a lot of people who had been facing difficulties for such a long time and nothing seemed to be moving in the right direction. When people had almost lost hope accepting it as a hard reality to be adapted to, its a big relief that these people managed to get the Minister to give an order to get an aid post within 10 days. That is a real achievement that we should attribute to them. Lets not take away the credit from this group. I am glad my friends who work in TPark and have to travel at odd hours can now feel safer. However I am not discrediting others’ efforts. Certainly other teams efforts have helped too. And the other point is its one thing to say things were in progress and another to say that a decision was made few months back when actually the ‘decision’ was made on IAK’s petition few days back only and as a knock on effect a meeting was convened and the ball started rolling. Am I seeing some lack of transparency here to score some brownie points? So all other arguments have come under a shadow of doubt honestly. By the way, I would like to thank everyone behind making this happen, GTech, Prathidwani, Police, Home Minister and most importantly IAK for what they have done to speed up things and make us feel safer with their Midas touch. Sorry for the long note.
Vinod, you must kindly get your facts and your words checked. You are now saying that nobody is blaming TPT, which some of you had already done. And when TPT corrected their mistake instead of being stubborn, which not many people do these days, you have mocked them for it as can be seen in some of the sarcasm below. And you said a team suddenly claimed exclusive credits. Can you please point out where that claim is laid by that team??? Because I have not seen that being done anywhere by that team. I have lost trust in these online arguments. People say anything they want to win their side of the argument. God save this country!!!!!!
Well Done IAK …. Its easy to talk big but you GUYS proved it …. WAY TO GO !!
This is an incredible achievement for the entire tech community. Whoever behind this, deserve an applause and appreciation. friends, there are many things we can do for techies and technopark, instead of fighting for getting credits, please join our hands so that we can become a big single community to fight for our rights and justice.
Oh is it? First you said VoT was the only ones who protested. Now you are saying its their protest that made the difference. Don’t be so childish.
Educated class? If the allegation was false, why did TPT bother to edit the article ? Agreeing all red tape stuff and spirit and all.
Pick up some and prove it.. 🙂

The logic is simple, you can see the evidence of minister’s sign on IAK’s papers. But you are not able to digest what he said in public. Neither you, nor TPT. If it was just you, we wouldn’t have raised this, but we were trying to prove something.. to TPT.
>>> “..Am I seeing some lack of transparency here to score some brownie points? So all other arguments have come under a shadow of doubt honestly…”
If it was for some brownie points , Prathidhwani wouldn’t have met ADGP Hemachandran, Mayor Chandrika, MA Vahid MLA, Shashi Tharoor MP, ADGP Sandhya & the then home minister Thiruvanchoor & then Kazhakkootam Circle Inspector Vinod. Some of the pics are available here. We just wanted to prove that we will not tolerate biased reporting and TPT did some funny edits here and there.

Now, that’s spirit.
Some questions. it seems photos are uploaded in April 2013 in facebook. different photos uploaded on the same date – April 12th, 2013. So your submissions were happened on or before April 2013. more than a year back. Right?
Okay, so you are saying you submitted this safety issue concerns to all those authorities, and what was the result? what action plans you and those authorities taken based on your complaint? what are the follow-ups you did? what was the result? please describe it with evidence and proof.
An organization can give complaints for the sake of it, and with sincere intention to find a solution. the first one – is just for the publicity, and the second one is with genuine interest. But when we claim our credibility, we have to provide the proper evidences.
In that case, don’t you think you have to furnish evidence that this article was a paid news first sir as you came up with the allegation initially? It will be wise to refrain from playing childish games like this in public. Don’t you realise people can easily see through this? I can understand why you are reluctant to accept the fact that nothing much happened for so long after your petition and whatever you did. Its a matter of pride. But when someone came up with results, jumping on to their bandwagon and saying we have done things too seems like publicity trick. Now whatever happens after this, we know how the meeting was convened and whose effort was behind it. Thanks. Ullu math banade sirji. 🙂
Yes of course all this was done! But please explain why we saw no outcome? And why did something happen the moment a new group published their report to the Home Minister? So please allow me to believe that either that petition did not take flight because it wasn’t submitted as it should be or not enough follow up was done to get it out of the red tape and into further action from the ministry. Or was it just a submission for the sake of it and then showing off to the people that we have done our job and lets rest now for the Govt to take action? In any case, this new team seem to have taken the right route and an effective approach unlike the past attempts. Kudos to them for shaking the system to act when it had been idle for years, as you claim, even after repeated, inefficient attempts from other groups. Let me reiterate, I am not discrediting what others did in the past but the recent attempt by the group called IAK seems to have hit the bull’s eye. And that is what matters at the end of the day. And lets appreciate them for that instead of tarnishing them.
This is the same thing they did to the kazhakkoottam railway action council.
Prathidhwani started actions for safety@park following a candle light vigil protest against delhi rape incident and several safety measures including aid post were recommended by employees from park itself. Consolidating all the demands & signatures & submitting them, first the park centre officials responded to it by providing extra security men & proper lights @ the back entrance as that was one of the demands. Later on we started contacting officials outside technopark..
>>>”..An organization can give complaints for the sake of it..”
>>>”..the first one – is just for the publicity..”
>>>”..what are the follow-ups you did?…”
Your attitude towards other orgs who have done it even before you guys thought of it is too welcoming to prove you something. 🙂
Now, don’t you think that when IAK submitted the petition , wouldn’t they be considering it as a fullfillment of a demand that was there on their tables for long and since more and more ppl are coming up with the same request, its time for them to act ? And in the end, G-tech played a major role as credited by the minister. (Still you guys want to forget this chapter.. :))
If you don’t want to think it that way and want to say that within this 3 weeks of time, everything happened as the minister seeing your petition itself.. Sorry boss, we know the pain of following up things and also, what bluffing is..
>>>>”…Or was it just a submission for the sake of it and then showing off to the people that we have done our job and lets rest now for the Govt to take action?..”
What an attitude towards other orgs. As per home minister, its G-tech alone who have invited them and put up these demands. And now these ppl say that they have shaken the whole system…. So funny you. 🙂
What all saw was G-tech been given the credits.. and what this page was all about is a tribute to IAK.. thats the evidence and thats funny.. 🙂
Oh is it? let me hear the whole story. I thought the council’s protest was shown to the world or it reached more ppl through Prathidhwani’s shortfilm and it was a total homage to that protest. And now some folks are in a spree to say “prathidhwani have done this.. that… to action council….” 🙂
Ajith, what are you trying to prove? we understand that you have good intentions to the community, but whatever the new team did made the difference. I still remember the quote of an official sometimes before ” even though we are hearing some incidents, we didn’t get any formal complaint from any employee / company to us”.
Agreeing that you were there very early to address the issues, especially the safety concerns and submitted complaints and petitions. but sill please show us the timeline of your efforts and results – with proofs.
I saw your recent petition to the minister – A blanket petition with lot of requests. I expect you to work on each of them individually and let the techies know the status of each of them. if someone worked on any of them and implement it, don’t come up and say we were working on it ages back, and its not you made it.
I know prathidwani is a really good organization with lot of good initiatives. you are the one who introduced the short film festival, blood donation camp, safety campaigns etc… and today, prathidwani is the most active organization in technopark. the only disagreement is when you hesitate to give the due credits to whoever make the difference.
Voice of Techies is still there? i heard they are very powerful with lot of activists and they tried to move legally against the parking fee decision.
but this page given credits to Gtech, Prathidwani, iak and everyone put efforts.
Sorry man, you are too late. And why all this discussions happened was bcoz of this page’s original form. Now what you see is an edited version after our revellations on G-tech & prathidhwani.
>>”..I saw your recent petition to the minister – A blanket petition with lot of requests. I expect you to work on each of them individually and let the techies know the status of each of them. ..”
Thanks for your suggestions.

>>”..the only disagreement is when you hesitate to give the due credits to whoever make the difference…”
I don’t know what’re you trying to prove by saying ages back and discredit the efforts. As mentioned in one of the comment below, all this discussions started bcoz of a very partial report by TPT and now what you see is an edited version. If you have any doubts reach out to anyone of your colleagues who have seen that.
move legally in the sense? Filed a case against Park ?
People,
please understand that this thread started only because TPT reported that credit goes “exclusively to IAK” after that they edited the article to include prathidhwani name and Gtech name. we are open and welcoming to any organisation who does good for park.
and for those who have a unique magic stick in their hand to make things happen in one week time. please show magic in below list also.
http://www.prathidhwani.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Prathidhwani_Demands_In_FY14-15.pdf
and dont steal idea’s like –
Technopark express circular route, pujappura chappathi , Neethi Medical store, SupplyCo Super market, ESIC dispensary, Haritha Mobile, Cafe Kudumbasree, Indian Coffee House, Women’s Hostel Inside technopark and many more..
we would be happy, if any one can help in these efforts.
A Wave!! .
When you chase a 300 target, does who hit last 20-30 run matter exclusively? ..
They helped the cause in a big way, no doubt. this thread started against biased reporting.
Since you people were there, better ask among your people, or ask park center
Those are some of the very needy things – so you say all those are just your ideas? :-). okay, now you say which all the items you are going to work on, and let public see the effort, results and status of them.
It is a fact that, nobody else who claims the credit doesn’t have anything like this.
You’re not even interested in substantiating your convictions .. 🙂
Yes, we proudly do. It is our demands and ideas. Can you lay claim to any of this?. It least mention that this ideas was orginally proposed by prathidwani.
Check our website for progress.
Its very clear that Congress and CPM trying to enter inside matters of Technopark..Mallus showing their rela face…They dont know many companies are firing employees and many are jobless now….
