The new power tariff will in all probability come into effect in the State only by December this year.
The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission has completed the formalities needed for revising the tariff, including the conduct of three separate public hearings in Trivandrum, Kochi and Kozhikode.
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) had submitted the clarifications sought by the Commission. Meetings were also held with licencees such as the Cochin Port Trust and the Technopark.
A final decision, however, is expected only after the by-elections scheduled for November are over.
Anyway it would be a relief to the business with in IT parks, especially the food courts and restaurants, because now they are giving high rates for electricity and rent.and thus they are forced to increase the food prices to meet the operational cost.
Good news for kerala IT sector !!!!
