Prakruthi completes Third Phase of Seedling Distribution in Technopark

Prakruthi – the voluntary group of Techies working towards Green Thoughts & Green Living, concluded their third round of seedling distribution to those who have registered with Prakruthi for seedling distribution within Technopark. Over an year Prakruthi has been a driving force for many inside Technopark to start farming practices at their home and the seedlings that we deliver had met their initial needs.

Unlike last time, team Prakruthi found more takers for seedlings this time and the overwhelming response made them to extend the planned distribution time. With the volunteer support, they delivered quality seedlings to 660 employees in Technopark, which is more than 1% of technopark employees to have homestead farms at their homes.

“Seedlings were provided in two packages 1) 40 seedlings pack worth 100 rupee 2) 40 seedlings pack, seed kit and a booklet on farming practices worth 140 rupees.The profit that gained during this time will be kept apart for our next initiative ‘Kuttykrishi’ wherein we plan to farming support to around 15 schools during the next academic year. The package had 5 different varieties of vegetables and was selected out based on the agro climatic conditions. We introduced fabric, reusable covers and paper covers for carrying seedlings.” – said Mr Biju Sundaran (President, Prakruthi).

Inorder to impart knowledge on organic farming, Prakruthi had arranged a session named Introduction to Organic Farming by Dr.R.Reghunath, Ednomologyst(retd), KAU. Moreover an app on farming ‘Sreshta Krishi’ launched by Prakruthi is available in App store.
