Prakruthi supports Kollam Agricultural Farm to set up Hydroponics

Technoparktoday.com>> By seeing the successful working model of Hydroponics system sponsored by Team Prakruthi to Coconut Nursery, Kazhakootam, Prakruthi again received a request from Kollam District Agricultural Farm, Anchal to set up a new Hydroponics System in their farm.

Prakruthi in association with CISSA(Center for Innovation in Science and Social Action) provided technical assistance and prepared the Hydroponics System consisting of a 18w motor, air pumps, automatic on/off timer, holding a total of 36 pots. As of now, Palak, Lady’s Finger, Tomato & Chilli seedlings are planted.

The Agriculture Farm intends to encourage these new farming techniques among farmers & common people. The 5 sq meter equipment in the 350 acres of Farm Land generated curiosity among the Visitors. Prakruthi is sure that this new system would give the people a great experience and a platform to learn & implement.

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. Terrestrial plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral solution only, or in an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel.
