TechnoparkToday.com>> Sakhi TV, as in the previous years have celebrated International Women’s day, on the 10th of March, 2015.
Though, March 8th is declared to be celebrated as the day dedicated to the women of the world, due to the sad demise of the respected speaker of the Kerala assembly, the program had to be postponed to the 10th of March.
This year, Sakhi, has joined hands with Maranalloor Christ Nagar College for celebrating the day at the campus at Trivandrum.
The program started with a media seminar on the subject ‘Youth Power and New Media’. Justice (Retd) Smt D.Sridevi, Mr. Rahul Ishwar ( Co-coordinator, State Youth Commission) and Ms. Chintha Jerome; student activist and research scholar took part in the discussion.
The students of the college had a chance of interacting with the famous Malayalam Dubbing Artist Smt. Bhagyalakshmi and the formal celebration started with a meeting presided over by Fr. Joseph Vattaparambil, CMI (Manager, Christnagar Group of Institutions).
Mr. Sreeraj Menon, M.D of Sakhi TV welcomed the guests. Smt. Bhagyalakshmi inaugurated the function. Fr. Robin Anandakkattu CMI (Principal, Christnagar College, Maranalloor), Fr. Joseph Enthakuzhi CMI (Administrator, Christ Nagar Group of Institutions), Mr. Hari Prasad (Executive Director, Sakhi TV and Mr. Moni Mathew Panicker (Director, Sakhi TV) were the speakers.
Ms. Thara Ravishankar (Lecturer, Department of English, Women”s Cell, Christ Nagar College) delivered vote of thanks.
Variety entertainment was followed the meeting by the students of the college.
