Satish Babu Becomes Director Of ICFOSS

The President of InApp, Satish Babu, has been appointed as the Director of the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS) by the Government of Kerala.

Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan inaugurated the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software at Technopark on February 24, 2011.

The ICFOSS was formed with a view to provide technical assistance for implementing FOSS in government projects in Kerala. It will also focus in promoting the use of Open Source Software in the national and international levels

Satish Babu has been elected as the Vice President-cum-President Elect of the Computer Society of India for 2011-12. He is an active proponent of Open Source Technologies and is the Convenor, Special Interest Group of CSI on Free and Open Source Software (SIG- FOSS). He is currently the chairperson of IEEE Kerala Section. He is a co-founder and executive secretary of the Society for Promotion of Alternative Computing and Employment (SPACE).
