SkyUp Airlines Chooses IBS Software to Reinvigorate Commercial Operations

IBS Software

TechnoparkToday(Sept,2023): Ukraine’s largest airline, SkyUp Airlines, and its subsidiary, SkyUp Malta, have entered into a partnership with IBS Software, a leading provider of SaaS solutions for the travel and cargo industry. This collaboration aims to bolster SkyUp’s commercial operations through the implementation of a digitally native Passenger Services System (PSS). With the new platform in place, SkyUp Airlines seeks to enhance flexibility as it prepares to resume its scheduled flights.

In response to the challenging circumstances brought about by the conflict, SkyUp Airlines has garnered attention for its forward-thinking initiatives. These include the safe evacuation of its aircraft from closed airspace, a strategic shift to become an ACMI provider, and the recent attainment of an Air Operator Certificate in Malta, granting the airline the capability to operate throughout Europe. As the airline gears up to recommence full-scale operations within the European Union, the transformation of its in-house IT system into a world-class PSS stands as a pivotal milestone in its journey.

IBS Software’s cloud-based and NDC-native PSS platform will empower SkyUp Airlines to swiftly adapt to market fluctuations. It grants the airline the agility to dynamically price fares and ancillary services while facilitating continuous pricing across a multitude of distribution channels. Importantly, this innovative platform allows SkyUp to seamlessly manage both its core airline and Maltese subsidiary from a single interface, facilitating cooperation with its in-house tour operator and an expanding network of partner travel agencies.

“We are excited to partner with IBS Software, a like-minded collaborator deeply rooted in innovation, to drive the resurgence of our commercial operations,” remarked Lyudmyla Slobodianiuk, Chief Commercial Officer of SkyUp Airlines. “IBS Software’s cloud-native PSS will serve as the foundation for our agility in adapting to shifting market dynamics. We are confident that this partnership will play a pivotal role in our future success.”

Benjamin Simmons, Vice President and Regional Head of Europe and Africa at IBS Software, expressed delight at being selected to support SkyUp Airlines in its quest to revitalize commercial operations. He noted, “It is an honor to collaborate with such a resilient and forward-thinking airline, which has deftly navigated the challenges posed by both the COVID-19 pandemic and the conflict. By assisting SkyUp in its commitment to replace legacy systems with cutting-edge technology, we eagerly anticipate contributing to a new and exciting chapter in the airline’s history.”
