TechnoparkToday.com (Feb, 2017) > Online voting to finalize projects proposed for Area-Based Development and Pan City Development of ‘Smart Cities Challenge’ has begun. A kiosk with laptops has been set up at the Manaveeyam Book Fair, for people to register their votes. “Since it is the first day, people are still trickling in. They seem to be hesitant now. The voting here will stop with the Book Fair at noon on Saturday,” said an official.
When one visits the website www.tvmcity.in, a people-friendly interface guides one through the voting process. The site offers a brief description on each of the seven projects shortlisted for Area-Based Development. Each individual can make one choice in Area-Based Development. In Pan City Development, there are eight broad categories. From each of these, an individual has to make three choices each. After the votes are counted, three choices which garner maximum votes will be chosen. In Pan City Development as well, three options which receive the most votes will be chosen.
The final smart city proposal will be prepared using these choices made by the people themselves. Votes can also be registered in the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/smarttrivandrum/ and Smart City Trivandrum mobile app.
