Ask Technopark to Enforce the “No Smoking” Rule

Somking is prohibited inside technopark, you might have seen the following boards at various places.

But a shop in 7th floor Tejaswini is selling cigarettes. Most people including securities are smoking inside he campus publicly.

This was reported to park office several times, but no action was taken. The news came in a newspaper too. But technopark keeps their eye closed on this issue.

If you wish that technopark should enforce “No smoking inside campus” rule, then please write to CEO Mr. Mervin Alexander or atleast sign the following petition.

  1. there are lots of smokers in the campus. Lots of people are doing night shifts. If some people wanna smoke then what is the problem in that ? Its not affecting the campus and people over there by any means.

I dont think smoking should be prohibited in technopark campus.

  2. @Vishu,

In that case you could request technopark to remove the boards..

  3. @ extolution

Glad to hear that you are following all the rules mentioned in boards fixed in side technopark.

  4. ram, why you are such intolerant when someone pointed out the mistake? Smoking is prohibited inside the campus, but the same time, the shops within the campus is selling cigarettes. What a controdiction. the author just pointed out, and whats wrong in that?

If you are insisting some rules, you should make sure that there wont be anything which violates that.

  5. Either Stop selling the cigerattes inside technopark and ban smoking completely. else, remove those boards, and allow people to smoke freely.

Banning smoking and selling cigerettes are not good. Good report. hats off author….

  6. There is no contradiction….you are not allowed to drink alcohol in public, but govt sells thru bevco and you are supposed to drink in private….its the same with cigarettes

  7. This is not fair, says like smoking is prohibited, and same time selling the cigars. Anoop, please dont compare it with the beverage and public, they are a big mass, contains every type of people , educated and illiterate, rich and poor, with job and jobless. so making a rule and sticking with it among the common man or in the public is difficult.

but here, the case is entirely different. Technopark is a very small community with all educated people. employed people..and moreover they are the people who can lead by example…so this needs to be avoided.

Stop selling cigars within technopark, since you prohibit smoking inside technopark.

  8. The govt bans smoking but puts taxes on cigarette sales, so what’s wrong if Technopark authorities ban smoking and get some rental from a small shop which sells cigarettes. LOL Much ado about nothing!
    😀

  9. @Sunny Thomas

I pity on you that you didn’t get what i meant in my reply. I believe there is no difference in place where you are smoking whether it is behind Nila or parking area of Gayathri or Thejaswini.

If you are a smoker i prefer you to quit smoking today itself and don’t wait till shop owners to stop selling it.

  10. Ram, thats up to the smokers…but insiisting the rule and promoting it by selling cigerettes are controdictory right?

If you insist some rule, make sure that everyone is following that, both the authorities, and the people who supposed to obey the rules.

  11. they are just selling cig man. they dint told u to smoke inside campus. i think we dont want to bother about what they are selling .really we need to think about the authority , what they are doing against smoking inside campus
