The Talking Hands of Technopark

TechnoparkToday.com >> Talking Hands – Creating Conversations, commemorated the International Day for Person with Disabilities 2016 at Allianz, Technopark. 135 Deaf students, teachers and parents, close to 20 deaf employees in Technopark, the Talking Hands team, volunteers and supporters took part in a special celebration which was organized to mark the special day.

The function was kicked off with inspirational and motivating messages from HR Head Allianz India, Shri Hrishikesh Nair, CEO of Technopark, NISH Director, HR Director UST, Technopark Business Development General Manager Nireesh C, Vasanth Varada, Sindhuja Varma, Surya and Radhika. Talking Hands is a team of 7 deaf and 10 hearing impaired employees of Allianz India.

The team is focused on breaking barriers and ensuring equality. Talking Hands works closely with 3000 employees in teaching sign language so that they can communicate and engage with other deaf and hearing impaired people. SignTv is an online deaf news channel based in Trivandrum which presents news in Indian Sign Language and reaches many deaf communities in India. SignTv is in the fore front of providing deaf news, deaf awareness, deaf education and deaf advocacy for the deaf community in sign language.
