Techie women to get government-run hostel facility

TechnoparkToday.com>> A good news for women IT employees working in Technopark.  Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced construction of a ladies hostel in Kazhakuttom near Technopark Trivandrum.   The hostel constructed by housing board, will be commissioned by December 2020.

The 10-storied building will have 540 rooms with a capacity of 1300 persons.  State government is expecting Rs. 102 crore for the construction.  This will be the first of its kind initiative by the state government for accommodation of women IT employees.

Currently, techies depend on private run hostels and paying guest facilities for their stay, and are spending around Rs. 3000 to 6000 per month as rent.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan made this announcement through his official facebook page on October 13.
