As part of National Youth Day Celebrations, Honorable HRD Minister Smt Smriti Irani addressed Techies here in Technopark on 14th Jan 2016. During her visit, Prathidhwani & Vivekananda Study Circle – the socio cultural organizations in Technopark, submitted Memorandum on behalf of Techies.
Team Prathidhwani requested to consider stops for below trains @ Kazhakoottam station.
As Kazhakoottam is said to be the IT Hub of Trivandrum, more people are in need of a ease Transportation to different places. Moreover the memorandum requests to implement basic amenities including wash rooms, Vendor stalls in the station. Also they requested to rename the station as ‘Technopark-Kazhakootam’. The same memorandum was forwarded to Hon Railway Minister Sri Suresh Prabhu as well.

The campaigns, and short film which showcases the necessity of stop in Kazakoottam Railway Station filmed by Prathidhwani was mentioned in the memorandum.
VSC(Vivekananda Study Circle) submitted the memorandum for implementing Kendriya Vidyalayas in IT Parks providing special quota for Techies in other 2 Tier cities, start Yoga training centers & stress relieving Counseling centers in IT Parks, have a women’s hostel providing a minimum capacity of 5 % of working women in the respective campus, start off campus centers of Universities(like IGNOU, IIM, IIT) inside Technopark, have an affordable and state of art IT skills upgradation centers, have a Govt monitored framework/policies for IT skill development.
In addition some desired changes related to Employment Policy of IT sector was requested in the memorandum which includes the uniform IT sector employee policy framework, maternity/paternity leave policy, special leaves for support of ailing parents & kids, Encourage special reservations or priority for differently abled (“Divyang”) job aspirants in all private sectors and to have disabled friendly work spaces, increase in basic salary for Techies.
Encouraging IT Pvt. Sector contribution to Social Service & Governance and other basic facility service request was mentioned in the memorandum.
