Technopark bomb threat was an anti-terrorist drill by the IB

The tip off came to the Technopark Yesterday,from the Intelligence Bureau(IB). There were some security arrangements right from the morning at the Technopark gates, but everyone thought it might be for some VIP visit.

But later in the evening news came that a bomb was placed at Bhavani which houses the development centers of IT majors like Infosys, UST Global and Allianz Cornhill. Within no time the entire building was evacuated. It was time of confusion and tension for the hundreds of employees from these companies for the next two hours.

Later to the relief of everyone it was known that it was anti-terrorist drill by the IB to assess how the Technopark would react to a terror situation.  Around 8 IB officials could sneak into Technopark and into Bhavani 6th floor. They had with them explosive materials – crackers and flower pots which they lighted at the 6th floor.
