The ever awaited carpooling website for Technopark – www.parkcarpool.in, was jointly launched by the Group of Technopark Companies (GTECH), a body representing the chief executives of the Technopark firms, and Palnar Transmedia, a city-based software firm.
The site would encourage IT professionals to travel together and thereby save money, fuel and reduce global warming and traffic on the roads. Those who are interested can register in the website for free by submitting some basic information and search for travel mates who commute to the Technopark campus or Infopark in Kochi.
Kerala has more than 30,000 IT professionals working at these two IT parks, and this website would help them to commute more in an easier and enviornment friendier way.
Visit the www.parkcarpool.in and register yourself .
The website is also giving some valuable tips to make it more useful and secure. here is some of the tips
* It is always better for the members to arrive at a consensus on the fare to be collected on the fuel and maintenance of the car and how this fare is collected.
* Carpool system depends solely on time management and latecomers disrupt the entire process. Strict rules should be established for latecomers. The maximum time for waiting should be fixed up to 5 minutes.
* Frequent stopping in between your office and home or any destination should be strictly avoided in order to save time and late arrival at the both the premise of work and also back home.
* A well-maintained vehicle will consume less fuel in comparison to a poorly maintained vehicle. Ensure that the vehicle is well maintained. This will guarantee a secure, steadfast and comfortable journey.
* Mutual cooperation among the members of the carpooling systems is a must. Smoking should be avoided. Seating arrangements should be proper- small person in the back row as there is less legroom / leg space in some vehicles and big person in the front row. Caring for the fellow passenger would make the journey more comfortable. If you want to use any thing, ask for it before using.
* Before going into any pool check all details of the person(s) details with whom you are planning carpool.
* Provide all necessary details (relevant & genuine) to the website as well as inform your friends / family members about the carpool arrangement so that they are well informed about it – in case of any incidence / mishap
Hope everyone can make use of this website for better carpooling, and let’s keep our environment green.
Good idea and useful website. carpooling is successfully running in metros like bangalore delhi mumbai and chennai. hope that it can work here also. reduce the travel cost and reduce the traffic with carpooling.
Thanks to GTech and Palnar for such a wonderful concept, and technopark today for bringing it in to our attention.
Good Luck.

I’m also using the car pooling facility to travel to office. ( east fort – technopark ). we are 4 people in a car. and it is really good to share the petrol expenses. also it is an opportunity to get new friends also. I don’t have a car, but now i can travel regularly in a car ( no dust, no sunburn ). the only con is, we need to keep the time.
It was very helpful for me last week. i was late one day, and there wasn’t any cab at that time. i called one person and he gave me a lift to palayam. it is really helpful. and thanks for the creators.
infosys implemented this earlier, but not in the form of the carpool. instead a group of infy guys collected money and arranged the bus service, quite similar to the transportation arranged by the company. but it was better. nice to hear some good news from technopark.
all the best for the car pooling.
Carpooling is needed not only in IT parks, but everywhere. it helps us to reduce the traffic and make our life more environment friendly.
i was also lucky to get a lift last week. thanks a lot
