TechnoparkToday.com>>Nov 28, 2014: Technopark, one of the largest IT Parks in the country, will put its might behind global efforts to fight HIV/AIDS with a series of programmes on World AIDS Day to spread awareness and hope.
Backed by Lords Hospital and mobD — a unique platform that provides quality healthcare at home — the day-long event on December 1, named ‘Go RED’, will include a mass blood donation camp, flash drama, walkathon and fun-filled activities to promote healthy lifestyles
“With the support of various employee associations in Technopark, we hope to make this event one of the largest AIDS day observance programmes held in the city”, said Technopark CEO Shri K G Girish Babu.
On December 1, which is commemorated as Red Ribbon Day, every inmate of the park will wear a red ribbon as a mark of solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS. The blood donation camp conducted with the help of a unit from General Hospital will start at 9.30 am at the Exhibition Hall in Park Centre. Blood donation registration desks for a large database collection would be functional in all major park buildings.
The walkathon to be held within the campus will start at 3.30 pm. Following the culmination of walkathon at the amphitheatre, a half an hour long flash drama will be performed by Technopark employees. The drama will be based on the theme of world AIDS day which is ‘Getting to Zero – Zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths’. All employees will take a pledge to spread awareness on HIV AIDS. The event will be wrapped up with the release of 1,000 red hydrogen balloons.
mobD, the official partner of the event will conduct fun-filled interactive games exclusively for the CEOs and HR heads, a lucky draw and an awareness programme on healthy lifestyle.
‘The idea is to bring together all members of the 46,000-strong Technopark community and to spread awareness on a healthy way of life,” said Harish Haridas, CEO of mobD.
Technopark has kick started a poster designing contest on World AIDS Day theme for all park employees on its Facebook page. Winners of the contest will be announced on the event day.
