Technopark TBI wins Best Incubator Award

Technopark TBI, Trivandrum has bagged the prestigious AABI (Asian Association of Business Incubation) International Award for the Best Incubator for the year 2012. The award is instituted by AABI to promote the development of incubator and give recognition to the incubator who has overall excellence in incubation performance.

The award will be received by Shri.PH Kurian IAS, Principal Secretary- IT, Kerala State and Dr. KC Chandrasekharan Nair, Managing Director, Technopark TBI on November 29, 2012 during the AABI International Conference which will be held at Seoul. The prestigious award has been won only once by Agri-Business Incubator ICRISAT, Hyderabad in the year 2008.

“I extend my wholehearted congratulations to Technopark TBI team for winning this recognition and setting a unique example for young entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas to come forward and attain success in their entrepreneurial journey to success. Govt of Kerala also envisages the need for promoting entrepreneurship in the state and plans to give it a major thrust by identifying host institutions for establishing Technology Business Incubators (TBI) across the state in different sectors, said CEO Technopark Mr K G Girish Babu.

Hence Technology Business Incubation activity plays a catalytic role in promoting indigenous technology development, encouraging entrepreneurship and thereby, boosts the overall economic growth of the nation. Technopark TBI is in the process of spreading the Entrepreneurship spirit in the state by establishing Entrepreneurship Development Cells across the Engineering Colleges in the state.” Said K C Chandrasekharan Nair.

He also added” Technopark, through the Technology Business Incubation initiatives, is creating an ecosystem and a fertile ground that promotes the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. We have incubated more than 165 start up technology Cos in our incubation facilities in the past 9 years with a success rate of over 96%. Also the Government of Kerala has launched the student entrepreneurship scheme for universities, colleges and polytechnics in the state and Technopark TBI is the Nodal TBI authorized by the Govt to guide other TBIs and Student entrepreneurs”
