Toonz Academy to conduct Children’s Animation Workshop

TechnoparkToday>>Toonz Academy, the Animation education division of Technopark based Toonz Animation India will be conducting a ‘Children’s Animation Workshop’ during the School summer vacations in the month of April for children aged 8-14 years across Kerala. This workshop was first initiated by Toonz Animation in the year 2001 in Kerala followed by a national edition in 2002.

The event shall envisage the kids developing a character and a story idea and sending it to Toonz by post or by email. Ten top entries will be selected from this and the children will be invited to a 3-day long extensive workshop at the Toonz Academy. The session will be handled by experts from the Toonz Animation studio and will familiarize the children with the various aspects of animation production.

“The universal language of animation transcends age and culture. Responses to the children’s workshop have been overwhelming in the past years. A significant number of the films produced during the earlier workshops have done their rounds in international film festival circuits and performed brilliantly too. We expect CAW 2013 to be an astounding success.” Says Mr. P. Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Animation India.

The children’s films made during CAW 2001 films bagged the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honors Awards at the Kalamazoo Animation Festival  (KAFI) held in USA in April 2002. The films were also accepted into renowned festivals like Chicago international children’s film festival (CICFF), BIMINI Latvian Animated Film Festival, ANIFEST, Ottawa International Student Animation Festival, CINANIMA,  ANIMADRID, Asian Television Technical & Creative Awards & Nashville Film Festival.

The last date for receiving the submissions of creative ideas will be 28^th February 2013. The ideas can be sent through either e-mail or by post to the below mentioned address.
