TechnoparkToday.com: Taking the tradition forward to recognize the contributions of women to the society, UST Global, an information technology and services company for Global 1000 enterprises, celebrated International Women’s Day with the theme’ ‘Empowering Women – Empowering Humanity: Picture It!’ at its Thiruvananthapuram Center. The event focussed on women’s safety in the city and their health.The celebrations were organized by NowU (Network of Women Ussociates) at UST Global.
A medical camp was also set up in collaboration with IMA (Indian Medical Association) and had different clinics set up at the Technopark campus. Under UST Global’s Well Woman Clinic program today, there were for free consultation with gynaecologist, cosmetologist and general medicine.
Commenting on the overwhelming participation, Mr. Alexander Varghese, Country Head, UST Global said, “International Women’s Day is celebrated every year at UST Global with a lot of excitement and with every year we focus to acknowledge the contributions of women. This year has been a very special women’s day for us as the Thiruvananthapuram City Police announced the launch of iSafe – a women’s safety feature in the Thiruvananthapuram City Police mobile app. It is available on the City Police website and also on Google Play Store. UST Global is proud to have developed this innovative mobile app.”
The March 9 event at Technopark started at 9.00 am with a talent and art exhibition which was organised by the NowUteam at UST Global. The exhibition had 28 stalls and was open to employees from different companies located in Techno Park.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Hema Menon, Thiruvananthapuram Centre Head said, “UST Global has always been recognizing the women of our society. The celebration has magnified with the launch of our new safety feature ‘iSafe’ in the Thiruvananthapuram City Police mobile app, that focuses on women’s safety. It gives me immense pride to be a part of UST Global that believes in transforming lives by contributing to the society.”
UST Global received an over whelming response from the participants at Technopark Centre. By receiving this positive response for the app and other women centric activities at the event, UST Global is further encouraged to continue the practice of celebrating this occasion every year.
The event was inaugurated by Mr Gopakumar, a professional artist and expert in mural paintings. Also part of the support staff at UST Global, Gopakumar has worked in the field of art in Mali and in the Gulf countries for over 30 years and has contributed close to 1000 artistic creations.
