TechnoparkToday.com(Oct, 2015) : UST Global’s Network of Women USsociates (NOWU), an internal volunteer organization that facilitates the development and executive mentoring of the company’s woman employees, hosted its annual fundraising event, Yummy Aid, at the Thiruvananthapuram center.
The event had many food stalls featuring a variety of dishes prepared by the employees. The proceeds will be used for supporting women empowerment causes and the education of girls who require financial support.
According to Veena Gopal, NOWU Leader – Trivandrum, UST Global, “as a company driven by the mission of transforming lives, we are committed to serving the under privileged communities around us. Our employees have imbibed a culture which fosters the values of compassion, harmony and excellence. I congratulate each of them for their endless support and spirit that drives our different corporate citizenship programs.”
“The judges of the culinary contest were pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm and passion of NOWU, and by the culinary skills of the teams. They were impressed with the passion and the team spirit demonstrated at the event,” Veena Gopal added.
As many as 35 teams from various accounts and departments competed for the titles of ‘Creative Minds’ (Best Stall) and ‘Yummy Dish’ (Best Dish). Each team designed and created their Signature Dish which was then presented before the panel of judges comprising Ashok Eapen, Chief Chef, Hilton Garden and Amrith Jose Appaden, Executive Chef, Hilton Garden.
The teams presented a varied blend of flavors that catered to the diverse tastes of the foodies who visited Yummy Aid 2015. The menu included North Indian, South Indian, Malabar Special and Chinese dishes.. The teams displayed significant enthusiasm in innovating and experimenting with food and created new varieties of dishes that inspired the judges.
