Way.com Opens new office at Technopark Phase 3, Inaugurated by Dr. Shashi Tharoor

TechnoparkToday[Oct, 2023] – Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament, emphasized the importance of resilience and tenacity among young professionals as he inaugurated the expansive new office of Way.com, a US-based and Silicon Valley-incubated Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) marketplace, at Technopark Phase 3. Way.com, founded by Malayalee entrepreneur Shri Binu Girija, has overcome challenges, including the impact of Covid-19 and bankruptcy, to become a prominent player in the global market.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Tharoor urged young professionals to be prepared for setbacks in their pursuit of innovation, emphasizing the need to stay resilient and determined in the face of adversity. He lauded Way.com’s remarkable emergence and highlighted the company’s growth potential in the state, particularly in the capital city, which he described as an ideal location for both large corporations and quality living.

Way.com, ranked by Bloomberg as the 48th largest marketplace globally, has expanded significantly, with its new Technopark office accommodating up to 500 employees. The company, which initially started with just five employees in a 200 sqft area at Technopark in 2019, now boasts a spacious 28,000 sqft office. Overall, Way.com has a workforce of 750 employees across Silicon Valley and Technopark.

Shri Binu Girija, CEO of Way.com, highlighted the company’s journey, which began in 2016 in the Silicon Valley, primarily offering parking services. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive Insurtech/Fintech platform for car-related services in the USA. These services encompass monthly and hourly parking reservations, car wash bookings, finding and reserving city and airport parking, auto finance, Uber rides, and Roadside Assistance.

Shri Balagopal KS, Country Head, India, was also present at the inauguration event, underscoring the significance of Way.com’s expansion in the region.

The Technopark office serves as a crucial hub for Way.com, supporting its operations in all 50 American states. The company’s remarkable growth and resilience in the face of challenges demonstrate its commitment to innovation and customer service.
