TechnoparkToday>> The IT Division of School of Engineering, CUSAT is organizing a five-day short term training programme (STTP) on Innovation and Open Source Tools in IT from March 4 to 8, 2013. Dr. K. C. Chandrashekharan Nair, Managing Director, TBI inaugurated the workshop today at CUSAT. Dr. Godfrey Louis, Pro Vice Chancellor, CUSAT, Dr. A. Ramachandran, Registrar of CUSAT, Dr. P.S. Sreejith, Principal, SOE, Dr. Philip Samuel, Head, Division of Information Technology, Dr. G. Madhu, TEQIP Coordinator, Dr. Varghese Paul, Associate Professor IT and Santosh Kumar M. B., Coordinator, STTP were present for the inaugural function.
The workshop has been organized with the objective to make intuitive minds understand how innovation and open source tools work in IT and to promote the innovation and open source tools calling young engineers to take up entrepreneurship.
Inaugurating the a 5-day short term training programme (STTP) on Innovation and open source tools in IT, Dr. K. C. Chandrasekharan Nair, Managing Director, TBI said, “Businesses can not sustain without innovation, without business innovations can not be commercialized and without businesses economic development can not happen. Kerala is on IT boom and in the next five years, the growth of IT would be beyond predictions.â€
During his Presidential address, Pro Vice Chancellor, CUSAT, Dr. Godfrey Louis said, “This programme is extremely beneficial for students as it would help the young minds to get ignited and come up with their brilliant innovative concepts and get trained.
The workshop conducted under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme of Government of India (TEQIP) will have sessions from leading professionals from the IT sector. Some of the sessions are: Innovation & Role of TBI by Dr. K. C.
